How can I audition for ABT Studio Company?

Can I audition during the ABT Summer Intensive?
Students attending the ABT Summer Intensive in New York may audition
during the course of the program. Those students auditioning will
be notified of audition results at the end of the program. The
Summer Intensive audition CANNOT be used as an audition for ABT
Studio Company.
Is it necessary to attend the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
School at ABT in order to be selected for ABT Studio Company?
While it is not necessary for dancers to attend the JKO School at
ABT, we strongly recommended that students interested in joining
ABT Studio Company consider training at the JKO School.
How do students in ABT Studio Company continue their academic
education?
ABT Studio Company members train at the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis
School at ABT Monday through Friday from 10:00am – 5:30pm,
with additional classes on Saturdays. Dancers in ABT Studio Company
can continue their education through correspondence or online courses,
sometimes with their home schools. Some academic options include:
- Laurel Springs (Distance Learning Program for K-12)
- University of Nebraska - Lincoln Independent Study High
School (Distance Learning Program)
- Indiana University High School (Distance Learning Program)
Do you offer housing accommodations for your students?
ABT Studio Company does not provide housing accommodations. Upon
acceptance, the company provides a resource list to help non-local
students find appropriate housing. Out-of-town students should expect
to spend (on average) $1,000/month for New York City housing as
well as an additional $500/month for living expenses.
