Jessica Lang is a graduate of The Juilliard School (‘97) with a BFA in dance. Prior to graduating, Ms. Lang became a member of Twyla Tharp's company THARP! where she performed in major dance festivals around the world. She also worked with Ms. Tharp in her 1998 Diabelli Project that premiered in Palermo, Italy.

Since she began choreographing in 1999, Lang's choreography has been performed around the US and toured abroad including Japan, Mexico, and South Africa. She has created work on companies such as American Ballet Theatre's Studio Company, New York City Ballet (selected for the Choreographic Institute), Colorado Ballet, Pennsylvania Ballet, Richmond Ballet (Choo-San Goh Award 2003), Saint Louis Ballet, Hubbard Street 2, Dallas Black Dance Theater, Phrenic New Ballet, and Ballet de Monterrey in Mexico. She has also choreographed on The Juilliard Dance Ensemble, The Ailey School/ Fordham BFA Program, Princeton University, Texas Christian University and commercially for BMW International Industrials. Lang has also worked for Cirque Du Soleil where she served as the choreographer/evaluator for auditions.

In the summer of 2004, she premiered The Lang Project, her first full evening concert of her work that was made possible, in part, by the New York State DanceForce. The Lang Project was in residency at the New Noises Festival at Perry-Mansfield in Colorado, June 2005. Upcoming commissions include a new work for the Centennial Celebration Concert of The Juilliard School in February 2006 as well as a return to Colorado Ballet.

Jessica Lang currently teaches modern at Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre. She is also on faculty for ABT’s summer intensive program in NYC and Bermuda, and is a choreographer for the company’s Make A Ballet Program.
