This program is designed for the mature artist, ages 17-24, involved
in the pursuit of higher education. Dancers will have daily technique
in ballet, and will participate in classes focused on ABT repertory,
pointe work, partnering, modern dance, composition, and choreography.
This is a chance for the college dancer to further develop their
artistic talents in a challenging and professional environment,
while intensively training with world-class ABT faculty.
This three-week program will take place at ABT’s 890 Broadway
studios in New York City. The program, headed by Melissa Allen Bowman,
Artistic Director of Summer Intensives, will include renowned ABT
faculty and accompanists.
College credit options are available.

Audition during the ABT National
Audition Tour or by video.
To audition by video, please download the video
application and submit it with a $35 application fee in check
or money order, one informal headshot (does not need to be professional)
and a photograph showing first arabesque in center (women on pointe).
Video (ten minutes maximum) should include work at the barre (one
side only) plié, tendu, adagio, and grand battement; in the
center (one side) consisting of an adagio, pirouettes, petit allegro
and grand allegro. Women: please include pointe work combinations
in center consisting of relevé and échappé.
Men: please include two turning combinations, a combination with
tours en l’air, and petite allegro with beats. A short classical
or contemporary variation is required for men and women.
