General Description:
This position is responsible for assisting the entire Department of Educational and Training.
  • Assist Associate Director of Education and Training in the organization and execution of ABT’s outreach programs
  • Assist in the preparation of ABTKids and Pre-Performance Workshops.
  • Manage dance shoe inventory and sales for students
  • Assist with the maintenance of Educational Outreach database
  • Organize schedules and general communication between patrons
  • Assist in archival of department audio and video
  • Oversee and maintain department filing
  • Help with day-to-day tasks such as copying and assembling materials
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and work well with children. Must be attentive to detail, have ability to meet strict deadlines, and be a self-starter. A strong dance background is recommended, as well as an interest in the Administrative aspects of Family Programming.

Computer literacy is a must, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of dance and performing arts is a requirement.

Must be able to commit to a schedule of 2-3 days a week. Academic credit can be arranged.

General Description:
This position is primarily responsible for assisting the Manager of JKO School in special projects related to the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School (Pre-Professional Division and Children’s Division) and ABT’s National Training Curriculum.
  • Assist Director of Training Programs and Training Programs Coordinator in the application process for NASD (National Association of Schools of Dance) certification
  • Assist and manage ABT Studio Company and JKO wardrobe department
  • Oversee and maintain department filing
  • Help with day-to-day tasks such as copying and assembling materials
  • Assist Director of Training Programs, Training Programs Coordinator and JKO School Manager as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:

Must have excellent interpersonal skills and work well with children and teenagers. Must be attentive to detail, have ability to meet strict deadlines, and be a self-starter. A strong dance background is a must, as well as an interest in the administrative aspects of running a school. Must be available on Saturday mornings.

Must be at least a sophomore in college. Computer literacy is a must, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of dance and performing arts is a requirement.

This position is primarily responsible for assisting the National Training Curriculum Coordinator in organizing ABT’s National Training Curriculum (NTC) Teacher Training Sessions and Affiliate Examinations.

  • Assist in processing gifts and drafting acknowledgement letters
  • Assist in creating and processing mailings
  • Oversee and maintain department filing
  • Organize and maintain accurate records for files, Raiser’s Edge, and Playbill
  • Assist in researching current and prospective donors
  • Assist in processing donor ticketing
  • Help with day-to-day tasks such as copying and assembling materials
  • Support Development Department-wide activities, including special events, on a select basis as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:

Must have excellent writing and communication skills. Must be attentive to detail, have ability to meet strict deadlines, and be a self-starter. Must be college student or recent graduate, Bachelor’s degree preferred. Computer literacy is a must, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, and Excel. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge a plus. Knowledge of dance and performing arts preferred.

Must be able to commit to a schedule of 2-3 days a week. Academic credit can be arranged. Internship may be extended for additional months.

General Description:
This position is primarily responsible for assisting with all facets of the Membership Department operations and also participates in all department fundraising events and activities.
  • Work with Patron Ticketing Associate on projects related to the purchase of ABT subscriptions/performance tickets through Golden Circle and ABT Partners ticket service.
  • Work with Membership Associate to process membership renewal gifts in Raiser’s Edge, generate acknowledgement letters, and update membership records accordingly.
  • Work with Director of Membership to research current members for upgrades, new members, special incentives, and benefits.
  • Work with Member Events Coordinator to assist with planning and execution of member events including studio visits, receptions, special lectures, among others.
  • Perform other research projects and duties as assigned.
Position Qualifications:

This position is available to students in at least their Junior-level year of Undergraduate Studies and Graduate-level students. Students must be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week. Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Excel, and familiarity with databases preferred but not required. This internship will provide a great opportunity to experience how a Membership and Development Department runs in a successful non-profit organization. This position is unpaid and students seeking academic credit are encouraged to apply.

General Description:
This position is primarily responsible for supporting the Special Events Department in all areas of event planning
  • Process Special Events income and maintains event order records
  • Produce Special Events acknowledgements
  • Process Events invoices and track Events expenses
  • Manage and coordinate all event invitation mailings with mail house; secure volunteer assistance for in-house mailings with Volunteer Coordinator
  • Format and edit mailing labels, envelopes, etc.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies (letterhead, brochures, invitations, stamps etc) for Events department; responsible for ordering new materials as required
  • Coordinate gift bags for all events including securing product, transportation of materials, and production and distribution of gift bags at each event
  • Manage distribution of departmental mail; update contact information for returned mail
  • Oversee all departmental filing
  • Assist in designing all in-house event materials such as menu cards, dinner programs
  • Draft event descriptions for ABT website and update all events web pages
  • Serve as primary contact for patron event inquiries
  • Staff all special events
  • Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:

Must be extremely organized, attentive to detail, and able to work on multiple projects and meet strict deadlines. Must have excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills. Must have strong interest in non-profit industry; knowledge of dance and /or the performing arts preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required. Experience with Photoshop and Raisers Edge highly desired.

Must be able to commit to a schedule of 2-3 days a week (hours are flexible). Academic credit can be arranged. Attendance at all events is required.

  • Work with the Marketing Associate on online marketing, including social media, e-advertising, and research trending in various online advertising campaigns.
  • Work with the Marketing Associate on advertising campaigns for future Seasons, including direct mail and print ads.
  • Work with the Promotions Associate on upcoming events and promotions for audience development. This might include weekend activities.
  • Various administrative duties.
Position Qualifications:

This position is available to students in at least their Junior-level year of Undergraduate Studies, and Graduate-level students. Students must be available for a minimum of 15 hours per week. Proficiency in Microsoft programs including Excel, Word and PowerPoint as well as a basic knowledge of online research, HTML, Photoshop and video editing software is preferred. This internship will provide a great opportunity to experience how a Marketing Department runs in a successful non-profit organization.
