Neo

Choreography by Alexei Ratmansky
Music by Dai Fujikura
Costumes by Moritz Junge
Lighting by Brad Fields

Running Time: 10 minutes

Created in pandemic times by Alexei Ratmansky for ABT Principals James Whiteside and Isabella Boylston, Neo challenged the dancers to reclaim their stamina after months of isolation. This pas de deux was presented to live audiences for the first time in October 2024. Alternately playful and daring, fevered and sensuous, the choreography is matched by the bold yet delicate sounds of the shamisen, the Japanese stringed instrument which accompanies them in a piece by composer Dai Fujikura.

Firebird

Choreography by Alexei Ratmansky
Music by Igor Stravinsky
Scenery by Simon Pastukh
Costumes by Galina Solovyeva
Lighting by Brad Fields
Projections by Wendall K. Harrington

Running Time: 47 minutes

Alexei Ratmansky’s Firebird, a glorious interpretation of the classical fairy tale, is filled with mystery, enchantment, and heroic triumph. At the heart of the story is Ivan, a young man on a quest to find his lost love. His journey leads him into a strange and magical world, where he encounters the legendary Firebird—a radiant, supernatural creature whose help proves vital in defeating an evil sorcerer.
