Annabelle Watt

Annabelle Watt grew up in Brisbane, Australia, and began dancing all styles at the age of three. She trained at Classical Coaching Australia before receiving The Robert and Elizabeth Albert Scholarship to The Australian Ballet School when she was 15. After graduating in 2020 she was welcomed into The Australian Ballet (TAB) by Artistic Director David Hallberg.

Since joining TAB, Watt’s career highlights have included dancing Princess Aurora in Act III of The Sleeping Beauty and the Act II White Swan pas de deux from Swan Lake on TAB’s National Tour, Arabian in Sir Peter Wright’s The Nutcracker, The Fairy of Grace in The Sleeping Beauty, and demi-soloist in Justin Peck’s Everywhere We Go. Her favorite ballets include Swan Lake, Christopher Wheeldon’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and Johan Inger’s Carmen. Watt was promoted to Coryphée in 2024.

Outside the studio, Watt is The Australian Ballet’s Philanthropy Ambassador for 2024-2026. She also loves public speaking and hopes to pursue a career in journalism after ballet.
