A native of Chesapeake, Virginia, Kyra Coco began her dance training at the age of three at Ballet Virginia, where she trained until she was 15. She competed at the Youth America Grand Prix at the age of nine, going on to compete in the New York Finals. She later competed at YAGP at the age of 14, placing Top 12 in both the contemporary and classical categories. After attending summer programs with Houston Ballet on a full scholarship, Coco attended Houston Ballet Academy as a full scholarship student from 2018 to 2020.
Coco joined ABT Studio Company in September 2020. In 2022, she danced with Mariah Carey in a piece choreographed by James Whiteside for the Global Citizen Festival.
Coco became an apprentice with the main Company in November 2023.
