Yuma Matsuura was born in Tokyo, Japan and began his classical ballet training at age seven at Kunitachi Ballet Studio. Matsuura won the Gold Medal at the Youth America Grand Prix New York City Finals in 2018. He received a full scholarship to The Royal Ballet School, which he attended from 2018- 2021.
Matsuura joined ABT Studio Company in September 2021 and became and apprentice with the main Company in November 2022.
