NEW YORK, NY – Swans, sword fights, and toreadors will take center stage as ABTKids comes to the Metropolitan Opera House, Saturday, June 18 at 11:00 A.M. Hosted by ABT Principal Dancer James Whiteside, ABTKids provides a narrated hour-long introduction to ballet for children ages 5-12 and their families.

This season’s ABTKids performance will serve up bite-sized excerpts of works from ABT’s Summer season including Swan Lake, Don Quixote, and Romeo and Juliet. In a tribute to the red, white, and blue, the performance will also include George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes pas de deux. Throughout the program, audience members will be treated to a live orchestra playing famous compositions by Peter Ilyitch Tchaikovsky, Ludwig Minkus, Sergei Prokofiev, and John Philip Sousa.

All seats for ABTKids are priced at $25. Tickets are available for purchase online at https://www.abt.org/abtkids, at the Met box office, or by phone at (212) 362-6000.

The Metropolitan Opera House is located on Broadway between 64^th and 65^th Streets in New York City.

American Ballet Theatre and the Metropolitan Opera House require specific health and safety protocols for all audience members attending performances:

• All audience members must be fully vaccinated, including children.
• Negative COVID tests will not be accepted as an alternative to vaccination proof.
• Face masks are always required, except when eating or drinking in designated areas. Gaiters, bandanas, and masks with exhalation valves are not permitted.
• All audience members must present in-person verification of vaccination and a government issued photo ID to enter the opera house. Photo ID for children under 12 will not be required if accompanied by a parent or guardian with valid photo ID.
