Young Dancer Summer Workshop
This workshop provides the opportunity for serious young dancers (ages 9-11 & 12 year-olds at the beginning pointe level) to flourish in a professional yet nurturing environment. The outstanding faculty members of ABT will provide unparalleled instruction while remaining sensitive to the developmental needs of younger dancers.
The Young Dancer Summer Workshop will focus on building a solid foundation in ballet technique and educating younger dancers about related topics in the world of dance. In the Virtual Young Dancer Summer Workshop, students will begin each day with body conditioning class and will continue with a ballet technique class followed by character, jazz, modern, mime, and more. Workshops in injury prevention, dance history and meet the artist sessions with ABT Company Dancers will enhance the young dancer’s experience, providing a well-rounded education and facilitating future artistic development.
For 2021, ABT will hold Virtual Young Dancer Summer Workshops. The Virtual Young Dancer Summer Workshop is an opportunity for students from around the world to train together. Students will have three classes a day with classes held from approximately 12:00pm-4:00pm Eastern Time via Zoom. Class size will be limited.
Update as of 4/27/21: American Ballet Theatre will not move forward with our tentative in-person Young Dancer Summer Workshops in New York, Alabama or Texas. This decision was made following extensive discussions with ABT’s Medical Advisory Board. The Virtual Young Dancer Summer Workshops will be held as scheduled.
