Season Preview and Pièce d'Occasion Accompanied by Virtuoso Violinist Sarah Chang to Highlight Gala Program
American Ballet Theatre’s 2004 Spring Gala, Monday evening, May 10 at 6:30 P.M. at the Metropolitan Opera House, will feature highlights from the season’s repertoire including the Company’s all-new production of Raymonda. The evening will also feature a performance by internationally renowned violinist Sarah Chang. Ms. Chang will perform a Pièce d’Occasion set to Pablo de Sarasate’s Concert Fantasy on Carmen, with choreography by Kirk Peterson.
Co-Chairmen for American Ballet Theatre’s Spring Gala are Gianfranco Ferré, Aileen Mehle and Blaine Trump. Honorary Chairmen are President George W. Bush and Mrs. Laura Bush and Caroline Kennedy. Corporate Co-Chairmen are Joseph DePaolo and Matthew E. Rubel. International Committee Chairman is Mrs. Thomas L. Kempner. The evening has been generously underwritten by Signature Bank, Gianfranco Ferré and Cole Haan.
A Gala dinner under the Tent at Lincoln Center will immediately follow the performance. Gala benefit tickets priced at $1,000 and $1,500 include the performance and post-performance dinner.
