2018 New York Summer Intensive

Last week American Ballet Theatre’s New York Summer Intensive welcomed over 300 dancers ages 12-22 to our 890 Broadway Studios.  View a week in the life of ABT National Training Scholar Grace Curry as she navigates week one of this five-week intensive!

First day at ABT and it’s so wonderful to catch up with my friends from all over the world, including Japan!

Second day and we are all anxious to find out our placement for the next five weeks.  Everyone is happy and determined to  do their best and work hard this summer.

Character class is always a fun class for ballerinas.  We love learning different styles of dance here at ABT.

Pointe class with Ms. Cynthia Harvey is the best!  We are so fortunate to be learning from such amazing teachers.

Partnering is such an integral part of ballet and we have the best partners here.  It’s always great to learn how to partner with everyone’s different styles.

Stretching and getting ready for pointe class.

This year we were so lucky to be able to watch Company class on stage at the Metropolitan Opera House.  What an inspiration for us to watch our role models take class.

Week one has been an absolutely amazing experience.  I have already learned so much from my teachers.  I can’t wait for the next four weeks!
