Dear Dancers, Parents and Teachers,

The ABT National Audition Tour is one of the highlights of our year at American Ballet Theatre. In January and February of 2019, our Summer Intensive team will travel to 24 cities around the country to search for future ABT talent. Our greatest joy is meeting the young, gifted dancers who want to train with us.

My journey in this amazing place began just this way, at a summer intensive audition in San Francisco. I remember it vividly—the anticipation of getting my number, where I stood at the barre, the focus, the determination of everyone around me, hoping so much that the faculty could see my potential.

So many ABT stories have begun this way.

Cassandra Trenary’s ABT story began at our Alabama Intensive. Catherine Hurlin, Aran Bell, Tyler Maloney and Lauren Bonfiglio, all began their ABT stories at our Young Dancer Summer Workshop. Isabella Boylston and Katherine Williams began the same year in our New York Program. Over 50% of the company have shared this milestone in their training.
