Eileen Hebron

Eileen Houghton-Hebron has been an Artist in Residence at Palm Beach Atlantic University for nearly four years, but she has taught at PBA for the past twelve. She has staged numerous classical ballets for the PBA Dance Ensemble, many of whom have gone on to perform and teach internationally. Additionally, she has taught Summer Intensives for Seiskaya Ballet Academy for over twenty years. Since 2014, she has been invited by New York City Ballet’s principal dancer, Daniel Ulbricht, to teach in Saratoga, New York, for The New York State Summer School of the Arts. In fall of 2013, The National Dance Educators Organization invited her to present at their annual Conference in Miami. Eileen holds certification in the American Ballet Theatre’s National Training Curriculum. Her early training was with Marcia Lasser, of the Eglevsky Ballet, which was followed by more advanced training from Mme. Valia Seiskaya, of the National Opera of Greece. She continued her advanced training at Balanchine’s School of American Ballet, on full scholarship, where she participated in the NYCB’s Educational Outreach Lecture Demonstrations and danced principal roles in the school’s workshop performances. Personally chosen by Mikhail Baryshnikov, she danced professionally with American Ballet Theatre across the globe for the next nine years. In 2010, Dance Magazine featured Eileen’s solutions to common problems in the studio. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild. Television credits include: “Live at the Metropolitan Opera House,” and the award winning Frederick Wiseman documentary, “Ballet,” which aired on PBS in 1993.
