ABTKids Daily at the Top of the Rock

ABT has proudly partnered with Rockefeller Center for their annual Spring Sunday event. 81 years ago on January 11, 1940 Ballet Theatre made its debut at the Center Theatre located in Rockefeller Center. This 3,500 seat theater was the sister theater to Radio City Music Hall and located right next door.

In October of 1940 the Center Theatre was transformed into an ice theater for ice productions featuring three-time Olympic gold medal skater Sonja Henie before eventually being demolished in the 1950s.

ABT is proud to return to Rockefeller Center for this special workshop featuring ABT Dancers and Teaching Artists at the Top of the Rock and the majestic Rainbow Room.

Join us this week on ABTKids Daily as we share excerpts from our ABTKids @ the Top of the Rock film highlighting two of ABT’s most famous ballets from its inaugural season: Giselle and Swan Lake!

ABT JKO School Children's Division Online Community Classes

In the Spring of 2020, @ABTSchool launched virtual classes taught by former ABT dancers, ABT JKO School faculty and ABT teaching artists – all certified in the ABT National Training Curriculum.

Recommended for ages 2-4 and 5-8, these classes engage ABT’s youngest students and their families, as well as the global community at large, by exploring musicality, fostering creativity and imagination, and teaching ballet fundamentals.
