Lewis S. Ranieri, Chairman of the Board of Governing Trustees, has announced the formation of the Frederic and Robin Seegal Fund for Emerging Choreographers.

The Frederic and Robin Seegal Fund for Emerging Choreographers aims to provide ABT support necessary to collaborate with outstanding young choreographers to create and perform new ballets. One of the first works to benefit from the fund will be a World Premiere by choreographer Jorma Elo, scheduled for American Ballet Theatre’s 2006 season at NY City Center, October 18-November 5.

Mr. Seegal, who had been President of ABT from 2004 until his resignation in 2006, is an Executive Vice President at Stephens Inc. and was previously President of Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein. He currently serves on the Board of City Center, and has been on the boards of the San Francisco Opera, Neuberger Museum and the Southampton Hospital.
