Mother’s Day Week

For thousands of years cultures around the world have celebrated mothers and motherhood, but did you know that the modern Mother’s Day began in the United States in 1907 in West Virginia?

This week ABTKids Daily proudly celebrates all of the amazing mothers (both real and fictional) in ABT’s expansive family. Join us for a fun-filled week of interviews and activities and get inspired to honor the very special mothers in your life!

Meet A Dancer Monday

Soloist Zhong-Jing Fang

Today we sit down with one of ABT’s newest mothers, ABT Soloist Zhong-Jing Fang as she talks about baby Zia and her return to dancing and choreographing.

Fun Fact:   Zhong-Jing and fellow ABT dancer Stephanie Petersen had their babies on the exact same day, January 7, 2021!   Making Zia and Taylor the newest additions to the ABT family!

Teaching Artist Tuesday

Join one of ABT’s Teaching Artists as they introduce you to ABT and its ballets. Learn a dance, stop and sketch, and don’t forget to have fun!

ABT JKO School Children's Division Online Community Classes

In the Spring of 2020, @ABTSchool launched virtual classes taught by former ABT dancers, ABT JKO School faculty and ABT teaching artists – all certified in the ABT National Training Curriculum.

Recommended for ages 2-4 and 5-8, these classes engage ABT’s youngest students and their families, as well as the global community at large, by exploring musicality, fostering creativity and imagination, and teaching ballet fundamentals.
