Based on Miguel de Cervantes’ sweeping tale of romance and chivalry, this classic ballet features the misadventures of the titular knight-errant of la Mancha and his devoted squire, Sancho Panza. These beloved characters are positively heroic when it comes to aiding the spirited maiden Kitri and her charming amour. From the bravura dancing of the fiery toreador Espada to the colorful caravan of gypsies, the stage explodes with one show-stopping performance after another in this feast of choreographic fireworks.

"The Ballet Theatre dancers have exactly the right tone of high-camp enjoyment to make the audience relish every finger-snapping, high-jumping moment."

-Roslyn Sulcas, The New York Times
