JULIE KENT TO TAKE MATERNITY LEAVE

American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancer Julie Kent will take maternity leave following her performances at City Center in New York City. Miss Kent and her husband Victor Barbee, ABT’s Associate Artistic Director, are expecting their first child in April 2004.
Artistic Director Kevin McKenzie said, “We are overjoyed for Julie and Victor. We will miss Julie’s performances while she is on leave, but look forward to her return.”

Miss Kent will not perform during ABT’s 2004 Metropolitan Opera House season, but plans to return to the Company in September.

American Ballet Theatre’s Fall season at City Center continues through November 9.
