NORTHERN TRUST NAMED AS LEAD CORPORATE SPONSOR OF AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE'S 2005 METROPOLITAN OPERA HOUSE SEASON
American Ballet Theatre proudly announced today the addition of Northern Trust as lead corporate sponsor of its 2005 Metropolitan Opera House season. In addition, Northern Trust will also serve as Principal Corporate Sponsor of ABT’s 2005 Spring Gala.
Founded in 1889, The Northern Trust Company is one of the world’s leading financial institutions. Its global reach, industry-leading technology and expert staff combine to provide custody, trust, investments and banking services with the highest quality service. Through strategic philanthropy, Northern Trust contributes substantially to many cultural, civic and charitable organizations.
Jeff Kauffman, President & CEO of Northern Trust Greater New York said, “Northern Trust is proud to be a sponsor of American Ballet Theatre. Throughout our 115 year history, we have a long tradition of caring for the communities in which we do business and of giving back to them. Northern Trust applauds ABT for its role in advancing excellence in the arts.”
“Central to both institutions is excellence: Excellence in financial services for Northern Trust and excellence in classical dance for American Ballet Theatre,” said Rachel Moore, ABT Executive Director. “As a result, we feel there is a natural alliance between the two organizations. We are extremely grateful for the support of Northern Trust.”
Lewis Ranieri, Chairman of ABT’s Board of Governing Trustees, said, "On behalf of the Board, I am delighted to welcome Northern Trust to the ABT Family. We hope that this represents the first year of a long and lucrative partnership."
