Adrienne Hurd

Adrienne Hurd is a native New Yorker. She began her training at the Joffrey Ballet School, the School of American Ballet, and the Alvin Ailey School, all on scholarship. She has danced with The Jamison Project, Dance Brazil, The Neubert Ballet, Ailey II, and Earl Mosley’s Diversity of Dance. She has appeared on Broadway in Down To Earth, Dangerous Games, Famous Orpheus, and Annie Get Your Gun. She is a founding member and principal dancer for Judith Jamison and The Jamison Project. She has worked with Alvin Ailey, Judith Jamison, Michael Peters, Paula Abdul, Twyla Tharp, Garth Fagan, Donald McKayle, Graciela Daniele, Jeff Calhoun, Vince Patterson, and Earl Mosley. She has taught at The Ailey School, The Ailey School Junior Division, American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School, American Ballet Theatre Summer Intensive NYC, Joffrey Ballet School, Eglevsky Ballet, The Metropolitan Opera Company, Marymount Manhattan College, University of Minnesota at Mankato, NYU Tish, EMIA, Professional Performing Arts School, Steps on Broadway, Open Look Dance Festival St. Petersburg, Russia, and Rasta Thomas’s “Rock The Ballet”. She was the resident choreographer for the Nomad Contemporary Ballet Company. She has choreographed for The Ailey School/Fordham University, University of Texas at Austin, U of Minnesota at Makato, The Ailey School Junior Division, ABT Summer Intensive NYC, Lynch Ballet Company, and Contemporary West Dance Theatre. She also created Middle Church Christmas specials for CBS and YouTube; original musicals: CRACKED, The Lost Boys, Open Rehearsal at the Theatre for the New City, and SPEAK the Show for SummerStage NYC. Dance films include Dance is a Movement, Freedom Rising, and Juneteenth. She was in the first class to receive the Ailey Teacher Certification Program Level 1.
