Alaine Haubert is the director of the ABT Gillespie School at Segerstrom Center for the Arts. She has been associated with American Ballet Theatre since 1965 as a dancer, coach, Ballet Mistress, adjudicator, director of Summer Intensives, and advisor for the ABT National Training Curriculum.

Ms. Haubert’s pre professional training was at the School of American Ballet with George Balanchine and his illustrious post Diaghilev faculty. Fresh out of high school she joined the national touring company of Camelot for a year, and then joined ABT. During her years performing with American Ballet Theatre, she danced the ABT classical repertory and worked directly with choreographers Antony Tudor, Jerome Robbins, Agnes de Mille, Glen Tetley, Eliot Feld and Birgit Cullberg among others. For ten years Haubert was a principal dancer with the Joffrey Ballet, until a back injury ended her performing. Since then she has been ballet mistress for five companies, including ABT, and has taught, coached and adjudicated internationally. She has been on faculty at the University of Hawaii as well as California State University Long Beach, and continues to offer Master classes when time permits.
