Anne Holm-Jensen Peyk

Trained at the renowned John Cranko School in Stuttgart, Germany, Peyk joined The Chemnitz Ballet upon graduation in 1991.  In 1993 Peyk left the company and started freelancing as a dancer in order to pursue her BA in Theater Science and her MA in Modern Culture and Communication at the University of Copenhagen.  During these years she worked with classical, modern and jazz choreographers in Denmark and in Germany, as well as joining Tivoli Ballet Theater for short seasons.  In 2001 Peyk was invited to the Royal Danish Ballet to assist Danish choreographer Anna Lærkesen during her creation of Wings.  Alexei Ratmansky invited her back to the company the same season to stage his Turandot’s Dream.  In 2003 Peyk joined Alexei Ratmansky for his creation of Anna Karenina for the Royal Danish Ballet after which she was offered to join the company as full-time Ballet Mistress.  During her over 12 years at the company she has worked with many internationally recognized choreographers such as Ratmansky, Cherkaoui, Neumeier, Wheeldon, McGregor and Horecna and worked on ballets that range from choreographers such as Bournonville, Balanchine, Robbins, Kylian and Tharp.  Peyk has also staged for the Finnish National Ballet, and assisted Hamburg Ballet in John Neumeier’s revised version of The Little Mermaid.  Peyk has vast teaching experience starting during her years as a freelance dancer to her many years at the Royal Danish Ballet were she today serves as company teacher and coach.  She draws on her studies of ballet pedagogy and training with master teachers such as David Howard, Loipa Arujo, Darla Hoover and Eva Draw, which she combines with her studies of bio-mechanics and Imagery with Eric Franklin and SOMA training with Dr. Guy Voyer.  Peyk was also in charge of the Royal Danish Ballet’s program of rehabilitating dancers back to shape after pregnancies.
