Carolyn Zettel-Augustyn has been teaching ballet for more than thirty years in Canada and USA.  In 1983, she founded and directed Academy of Dance in Waterloo, ON, Canada and opened a second location in Cambridge, ON, Canada. In 2006, she moved to USA and in 2011 she founded Classical School of Ballet LI.  Mrs. Zettel-Augustyn holds teacher certification with Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association (CDTA) and in 2012 she was awarded Life-Time Member status. She is a past member teacher with Society of Russian Ballet.  Mrs. Zettel-Augustyn is an ABT® Affiliate Teacher Pre-Primary through Level 7 and Partnering of the ABT® National Training Curriculum and she is an ABT Affiliate Examiner and has been awarded an ABT Fellowship. During her tenure with CDTA she was appointed Chair of the Ontario Branch, and was invited to sit on the Examiner Syllabus Committee responsible for the development of their syllabi.  Mrs. Zettel-Augustyn’s teacher training spans years of attending numerous seminars, workshops and conferences including; Canada’s National Ballet Teacher Training summer programs and David Howard’s summer program. Several of Mrs. Zettel-Augustyn’s former students have danced and are currently dancing professionally in countries such as; Canada, England, Germany, USA and China, and former student Peter Quanz has gone on to become an international choreographer.
