Lisa J. Pinkham has designed lighting for over two hundred ballets, operas and plays. Her lighting can be seen in the repertories of many national companies, including Birmingham Royal Ballet, Houston Ballet, Pacific Northwest Ballet, Dance Theatre of Harlem, San Francisco Ballet, and Ballet West, among others.
Pinkham enjoys a very successful relationship with choreographer Stanton Welch, and has designed the lighting for many of his ballets including Maninyas, Taiko, TuTu and Falling for San Francisco Ballet, Madame Butterfly for Boston Ballet and Houston Ballet, and Swan Lake, Play, Cinderella, Tapestry, Marie, and The Rite of Spring for Houston Ballet. Pinkham has also worked frequently with choreographers Julia Adam and Val Caniparoli.
Pinkham currently serves as resident lighting designer for Houston Ballet where, in September 2013, she created the lighting for the world premiere of Return by choreographer Garrett Smith.
