Maximilian Catazaro was born in Canton, Ohio, and began his dance training at The School of Canton Ballet with Cassandra Crowley and his mother Jennifer Catazaro Hayward. In 2022, he began training at Miami City Ballet School in Miami, Florida on full scholarship and participated in various Miami City Ballet productions. In May 2022, he was named the Eleanor Pao Scholar at Miami City Ballet School.
In 2023, Catazaro was accepted to the American Ballet Theatre Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School on a full scholarship. He joined ABT Studio Company in September 2024 where he created a role in Brady Farrar’s Cerulean Skies and has performed in new works by Tiler Peck, Houston Thomas, and Amy Hall Garner. His repertoire also includes Bernstein in a Bubble, Cornbread, Grand Pas Classique, Interplay, and pas de deux from An American in Paris, La Bayadère, Birthday Variations, and Swan Lake. He performed in Alexei Ratmansky’s The Nutcracker with ABT’s main Company in 2024 and 2025.
Catazaro joined American Ballet Theatre as an apprentice in 2026.
