The Beach Boys

The Beach Boys, an American rock band from southern California, was formed in 1961 and considered the most successful American group of The 1960’s. It consisted of brothers Brian, Dennis and Carl Wilson, their cousin Mike Love, and Al Jardine. An additional member Bruce Johnston joined the group in 1965. Their music, characterized by a sound of tight vocal harmonic texture, influenced by 1950’s rock-and-roll and rhythm-and-blues, exuded a spirit and style associated with southern California surf music.
