Raised in Pacifica, California, Tristan Brosnan began his dance training at age five at Westlake School for the Performing Arts. Brosnan went on to compete in the Youth America Grand Prix, where, at age 12, he was invited to join the Professional Ballet Program at Canada’s National Ballet School. At NBS, Brosnan trained under Mavis Staines, Alexander Gorbatsevich, Vera Timashova, Sergiu Stefanschi, Martine Lamy, and Raymond Smith, among others, and performed choreography by James Kudelka and Matjash Mrozewski. He earned several awards as an Ontario Scholar, graduating in 2019.
Brosnan joined American Ballet Theatre Studio Company in September 2019, became an apprentice with the main Company in May 2022, and joined the corps de ballet in September 2022. His repertoire includes Jose in Like Water for Chocolate, the Russian Dance in Alexei Ratmansky’s The Nutcracker, a leading role in Children’s Songs Dance, and a featured role in Songs of Bukovina.
