SUSAN FALES-HILL, LORI GAROFALO, NICHOLAS S. SCHORSCH AND MARK WAINGER ELECTED TO BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF BALLET THEATRE FOUNDATION

American Ballet Theatre has announced the election of Susan Fales-Hill, Lori Garofalo, Nicholas S. Schorsch and Mark Wainger to the Board of Trustees of Ballet Theatre Foundation, effective immediately.

“The Board is very pleased to welcome such accomplished and dedicated professionals who share our commitment in supporting artistic excellence and building ABT’s future as an enduring cultural institution,” said Lewis S. Ranieri, Board Chairman.

Susan Fales-Hill, an ABT supporter since 1997, served as Friends Co-Chairman of the ABT Spring Gala in 2003. A graduate of Lycée Francais de New York and Harvard University, she has enjoyed a nearly 20 year career in the television industry writing and producing such programs as The Cosby Show, A Different World, and Suddenly Susan. In 1991, Fales-Hill received a Special Recognition Award from the “Friends of the Black Emmys” and in 1993, she was bestowed the Nova extremely exciting to serve a company that both preserves the classical dance tradition and brings it firmly into the 21st century.”

Fales-Hill is a board member of the Harvard University Alumni Association, the Studio Museum of Harlem and the Eastside House Settlement. A freelance writer, Fales-Hill wrote Always Wear Joy published by Harper Collins about her mother, singer-actress Josephine Premice.

Of her nomination to ABT’s Board, Fales-Hill said, “ABT boasts some of the most gifted dancers of our time, who represent almost every ethnicity under the sun. It is extremely exciting to serve a company that both preserves the classical dance tradition and brings it firmly into the 21st century.”

Lori Garofalo is a director on the board of Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Cold Spring Harbor&#4#44; New York. She holds a Masters Degree in Education from New York University and previously taught English as a Second Language in the New York City public school system.

Garofalo has been an active supporter of ABT’s Family Day benefits and the Women of the Year Awards Luncheon. Of her nomination to ABT’s Board, Garofalo said, “It is an honor to be part of such a wonderful organization, and to join this group of genuine and committed Trustees. I look forward to increasing my involvement with the Company.”

Nicholas S. Schorsch is Chief Executive Officer, President and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of American Financial Realty Trust, the real estate investment trust. From 1995 to 2002, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of American Financial Resource Group. From 1980 to 1994, Schorsch was Chairman of the Board and President of Thermal Reduction Company.

Schorsch is clerk and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Abington Friends School and Chairman of the Board of the Performing Arts Center of Abington in Abington, Pennsylvania.
On being nominated to the Board of Trustees, Schorsch said, “The current Board and its leadership is committed to bringing dance to the public through ABT’s education programs, with the extraordinary level of quality that the Company has upheld for generations. This revitalized energy in dance education stimulated my interest to join ABT’s Board. I am honored to be a part of this organization.”

Mark Wainger is Senior Vice President of Global Compensation and Benefits for Time Warner Inc. Wainger has considerable expertise in the areas of executive compensation, employment law and labor relations. He is also responsible for the design, communication and delivery of Time Warner’s total rewards program. Wainger has held executive positions at Time Warner since 1994 and served as Assistant General Counsel at Time Inc. from 1982 to 1989.
Wainger said, “I am honored to join the Board of Trustees of America’s premier ballet company. ABT is a national treasure and I look forward to supporting its continued success.”
