Casting Announced for Weeks Three and Four of American Ballet Theatre’s 2025 Summer Season at Metropolitan Opera House

NEW YORK, NY (June 4, 2025) – Casting for the third and fourth weeks of American Ballet Theatre’s 2025 Summer season at the Metropolitan Opera House was announced today by Artistic Director Susan Jaffe.

The third week of the Summer season will include eight performances of Giselle. Isaac Hernández will dance the role of Albrecht for the first time with ABT at the evening performance on Wednesday, June 25, opposite Isabella Boylston as Giselle. Chloe Misseldine will make her New York debut as Giselle on Saturday evening, June 28, opposite Aran Bell as Albrecht. Remy Young, Virginia Lensi, and Ingrid Thoms will make their debuts as Myrta on Tuesday evening, June 24, Wednesday matinee, June 25, and Thursday evening, June 26, respectively. Staged by Kevin McKenzie with choreography after Jean Coralli, Jules Perrot, and Marius Petipa, Giselle is set to music by Adolphe Adam, orchestrated by John Lanchbery, with scenery by Gianni Quaranta, costumes by Anna Anni, and lighting by Jennifer Tipton. The current staging is by McKenzie, using the Quaranta and Anni designs.

The ABT New York Premiere of Christopher Wheeldon’s The Winter’s Tale will take place on the evening of Tuesday, July 1, led by Aran Bell (Leontes), Devon Teuscher (Hermione), Catherine Hurlin (Perdita), Carlos Gonzalez (Florizel), Cory Stearns (Polixenes), and Christine Shevchenko (Paulina). The matinee on Wednesday, July 2, will feature New York debuts by Herman Cornejo (Leontes), Cassandra Trenary (Hermione), Skylar Brandt (Perdita), Jake Roxander (Florizel), James Whiteside (Polixenes), and Claire Davison (Paulina). At the evening performance on Wednesday, July 2, Calvin Royal III will dance the role of Polixenes for the first time, with Isaac Hernández (Leontes), Hee Seo (Hermione), Isabella Boylston (Perdita), Joseph Markey (Florizel), and Courtney Lavine (Paulina) making their New York debuts in these roles. Daniel Camargo (Leontes), Christine Shevchenko (Hermione), Chloe Misseldine (Perdita), Michael de la Nuez (Florizel), and Paulina Waski (Paulina) will lead the ballet for the first time on Thursday, July 3. The Winter’s Tale received its World Premiere by The Royal Ballet, co-commissioned by the National Ballet of Canada, on April 10, 2014, at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, London. The award-winning production, featuring music by Joby Talbot, sets and costumes by Bob Crowley, lighting by Natasha Katz, projections by Daniel Brodie, and silk effects by Basil Twist, received its ABT Company Premiere on April 3, 2025, at Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa, California, led by Isaac Hernández (Leontes), Hee Seo (Hermione), Catherine Hurlin (Perdita), Carlos Gonzalez (Florizel), Cory Stearns (Polixenes), and Christine Shevchenko (Paulina).
