Jane EyreABT OffStage: A 2020 Virtual Season

As the global health crisis made it impossible for our 80th Anniversary season at The Metropolitan Opera House to continue as planned, American Ballet Theatre OffStage: A 2020 Virtual Season brought artistry of ABT into homes everywhere.

Cathy Marston’s Jane Eyre challenges the idea of a classic ballet heroine. After a difficult upbringing, Jane becomes the governess in the household of the mysterious Mr. Rochester, where she struggles with society’s expectations. A literary classic brought to life by stirring choreography and an enthralling Victorian design, Jane Eyre shows that love can conquer all obstacles. Explore the Jane Eyre program, including a Jane Eyre-inspired ballet class with Soloist Luciana Paris and a wide-ranging conversation with Vogue’s Hamish Bowles, Principal Dancer Devon Teuscher, Choreographer Cathy Marston and designer extraordinaire Patrick Kinmonth.
