As the global health crisis made it impossible for our 80th Anniversary season at The Metropolitan Opera House to continue as planned, American Ballet Theatre OffStage: A 2020 Virtual Season brought artistry of ABT into homes everywhere.
Alexei Ratmansky’s inspired reconstruction of this classic ballet awakens the timeless story of love triumphing over evil. Featuring lavish costumes and magnificent storybook sets, this retelling of the beautiful Princess Aurora, the evil sorceress Carabosse, the handsome prince and a magical kiss is certain to cast a spell on your heart and spark your imagination. Explore The Sleeping Beauty program, including a Debut Deferred feature on Soloist Skylar Brandt, a hair and makeup feature (there are about 200 wigs in the productions!) and an ABT Met Memory feature with Principal Dancer Isabella Boylston.
