ABT Studio Company: Spring Moves

ABT Studio Company presents a richly varied program of classical, neoclassical, and original ballets. The performances will feature New York City premieres of original commissions from Hope Boykin, Rena Butler, Sung Woo Han, Emily Kikta, Jessica Lang, Yannick Lebrun, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, and more. Repertoire also includes such favorites as Grand Pas Classique, George Balanchine’s Stars and Stripes pas de deux, Twyla Tharp’s Known By Heart Duet, and more.

New York University’s COVID-19 precautions for audience members at NYU Skirball

  • Audience members must be 12 years of age or older to enter the theater.
  • Audience members must show a valid government-issued photo ID (children under 18 can provide non-government identification).
  • All audience members must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and receive a COVID-19 booster shot (if eligible for the booster based on CDC criteria).
  • All audience members will be required to show proof of being fully vaccinated and boosted (if eligible), with an FDA-authorized or WHO-listed vaccine.  Documentation must include:
    • Name
    • Birthdate
    • Dates of doses
    • Vaccine manufacture
    • Documentation is in English
  • All audience members must wear a well-fitted mask at all times.
    • Allowable masks: disposable masks (surgical or medical procedure masks), KN95 masks, KF94 masks, N95 masks are allowable.
    • Masks that are not allowable: masks with one-way valves or vents; bandanas, scarves, and face covering made with other repurposed clothing items; cloth masks, unless being used as a second layer over a disposable mask.

ABT Studio Company

American Ballet Theatre Studio Company seeks to develop the next generation of ballet dancers, choreographers, and audiences.

The central mission of ABT Studio Company is to prepare its dancers of exceptional potential (ages 17-21) for careers in American Ballet Theatre’s main Company or other leading ballet companies worldwide. ABT Studio Company serves as the crucial vehicle for transitioning from student to professional performer. Nearly 80% of current American Ballet Theatre dancers are alumni of ABT Studio Company, including twelve Principal Dancers and seven Soloists.

Each season, ABT Studio Company commissions emerging and/or established choreographers to create new works on Studio Company dancers, serving as a platform for new choreography.

ABT Studio Company engages the broadest possible ballet audience by performing classical, neoclassical, and contemporary repertoire in a range of venues around the globe.
