Running Time: 137 minutes

Piano Concerto No. 1

Choreography by Alexei Ratmansky
Staged by Nancy Raffa
Music by Dmitri Shostakovich
Scenery by George Tsypin
Costumes by Keso Dekker
Lighting by Jennifer Tipton

Running Time: 23 minutes

This brilliant, quicksilver romp dashes by with spinning leaps, gravity-defying jumps and whip-fast turns at an almost comically impossible speed, but its heart is a dreamy, moving double pas de deux that is simply delectable.

Petite Mort

Choreography by Jiří Kylián
Assistant to the Choreographer: Elke Schepers
Music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Costume Design by Joke Visser
Set Design by Jiří Kylián
Lighting Design by Jiří Kylián and Joop Caboort
Lighting/Tech Adaptation: Joost Biegelaar

Running Time: 17 minutes

Jiří Kylián created this ballet for the second centenary of Mozart’s death. For his work he chose the slow parts of two of Mozart’s most beautiful and popular piano concertos. The choreography includes six men, six women and six foils. The foils have the function to be actual dance partners, and, at times, seem more unruly and obstinate than a partner of flesh and blood. They visualize a symbolism, which is more present than a story line. Aggression, sexuality, energy, silence, cultivated senselessness and vulnerability — they all play a significant part.

Études

Ballet and Choreography by Harald Lander
Music by Carl Czerny
Adapted and Orchestrated by Knudåge Riisager
Staged by Thomas Lund
Artistic Advisor: Lise Lander
Lighting Design by Nananne Porcher
after Harald Lander

Running Time: 46 minutes

Études is an affectionate and exhilarating tribute to the very art form of classical dance, set to music by Carl Czerny. Often hailed for its choreographic fireworks, Études is the quintessential fusion of art and technique.
