American Ballet Theatre takes to the road traveling by bus and truck to 8 U.S. cities over 21 days. ABT Across America builds on ABT’s history of cross-country tours in the 1940s and 1950s. From its starting point in Lincoln, Nebraska, ABT Across America will cross the United States in a caravan of 6 sleeper buses and 3 production trucks. 20 ABT dancers and 28 support crew will travel across 14 states, for a total of 3,100 miles, performing outdoors for socially distanced audiences.
A virtuosic piece for eight dancers, La Follia Variations brims with a poetry, wit, nuance, and power, with a message of community, the wild abandon of dance, and shared joy.
In this beloved pas de deux from Act II of the full-length ballet Swan Lake, Prince Siegfried falls in love with Odette, a beautiful princess who has been transformed into a swan by an evil sorcerer.
A playful and romantic duet, set to beloved classic songs sung by the incomparable Tony Bennett. Choreographed by longtime ABT collaborator Jessica Lang, Let Me Sing Forevermore seamlessly blends jazz and ballet to create the perfect showcase for ABT’s most spirited and versatile dancers.
Having premiered digitally in November 2020, Indestructible Light has been reimagined for the stage. Set to songs from Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Neal Hefti, Billy Strayhorn, and Chuck Harmony, this work is a celebration of American jazz.
